Today when I picked Ky up from preschool, our friend who is his teacher had a very funny story for me.
She had asked all the kids if they had a fun Thanksgiving. All 6 kiddos said "no". She asked if anyone did anything fun, again the answer from the kids was "no". She continued to prompt Ky (knowing where we had been) and asked him directly if there was anything fun about Thanksgiving that he would like to share. His answer: "I got new shoes!" So the truth finally comes out - what is REALLY important to a 4 yr old - not Disneyland or getting kissed on the cheek by Tinkerbell, but his new shoes with running lights on them...
