AT Day 6 – Recon

Today was a bit slower pace than many others. We did some PT in the morning, with a run through a park near the Alamodome and Convention Center. Even at 0630 the outside fountains were on and one of our guys ran through the waterfall multiple times I suppose to try to “cool off.” :+)

Morning rehearsals were dedicated mostly to the Jazz Band in preparation for tomorrow’s concert down on the Riverwalk, and a Combo gig tonight. We did get one hour of Concert Band and three of our Quintet members were able to run through a few things, but mostly it was a rest-my-lip-with-a-cold-sore kind of day (hate those sores).

After equipment was staged for the Monday concert band job and the Jazz band stuff packed sardine-like into the government van, most were released for the evening. I went down to the Riverwalk with SFC Tuggy and SGT Cook for dinner, but on the way we stopped at the theater. The sound technician for the evening show was setting up, so my companions got some good information that should help our setup tomorrow.

Dinner was also “work time” to discuss upcoming job details and working on some paperwork. I have a feeling today was a short breather before a mad rush of stuff coming up next week.
