Kels had her 15 month check up today. As suspected, she is way above average in every area. She is in the 95% in height and weight, (weight at 27.8 lbs and 2 3/4' tall) and 75% in head circumference. Our dr was very impressed with everything she is doing and we had fun laughing about all of her antics, including the big spit bubbles and her chattering.
She did have one concern with health, just a slight case of thrush in her mouth. Our dr didnt seem overly concerned at this point. Prob has been brought on by low immune system due to new teeth coming in. We will just keep an eye on it and get meds if needed.
She got 3 immunizations today. Both our nurse and I were surprised when Kels just watched her intently and never made a peep with the first 2 injections. She cried on the last one, but Clarissa mentioned that the 3rd one was one that would sting. She didnt even cry for very long and toddled herself out of the office when we were all done.
Everyone at the office was so surprised at how big she is, and enjoyed talking to her, and about her. It was a good check up and we are good now until November.
It really amazes me how much she is doing. One of her favorite things is to run around the house with her brothers. They get in a frenzy running around in circles and she just gets in the middle of things with them, running and squealing as much or more than they are. Her other favorite thing to do is to literally jump up and down (yes feet come off the mattress) in her crib. I usually know when she is awake because I can hear her jumping, and the poor crib squeaking through the baby monitor. When I go up to check on her she even gets more excited and jumps higher and faster and laughs her head off. It is pretty hysterical. I keep waiting to hear the crash as the crib falls apart, which it prob will one of these days. We will hopefully be getting her in her big bed soon, esp as she has figured out how to put one leg up and over the side of the crib....
She has also learned to go up and down the stairs by herself this week. It is a blessing for me to know she is finally safe, and a challenge because we have to rememeber to keep all the doors closed (esp the bathroom) upstairs and make sure there are no little toys left out in the playroom. She is signing tons of words (please, milk, more, eat, yes, no, etc) She is really good at imitating and is picking up the signs after only seeing them one time. She is also trying to say words and phrases. Sometimes she takes us by surprise when we hear her say something big (like "very good" or "yellow") We look at each other and say "did she just say what I think I heard?" and she had since more than one of us heard it! She also likes to imitate sounds - dogs barking, sirens wailing, "blah, blah, blah" from her favorite Pixar "short" (snowman one)
She loves music and dancing. She has figured out how to turn the stereo on just so she can dance to the music. It is funny to watch her wobble her hips back and forth in time to the music, and the boys taught her how to do "the monkey" so she gets her arms going now most of the time too. It is pretty funny to watch, wish I had a working video camera to capture it.
She is just getting so big, and learning so much everyday. It is fun, and sad at the same time, knowing that she is our caboose. She just didnt stay a baby very long, she is growing and changing every day and turning into a little girl already. She is a joy to our family and we are so blessed to have her.
